Where does my uploaded file go?
Uploaded files (CSV/XLSX/PDF) are parsed in-memory during the analysis request and are never written to disk or object storage. Only the extracted numerical results and AI-generated commentary are saved to your account so you can revisit them.
How long are analyses retained?
Saved analyses stay in your Statement History until you delete them. You can delete any single analysis, wipe all of your data, or close your account entirely from Settings — deletions are immediate and permanent.
Who owns the data?
You do. Plainledger acts as a data processor on your behalf — we never claim ownership of client financial data, never use it to train models, and never sell or share it with third parties. Export a full JSON copy of everything on your account any time from Settings → Data.
What if Plainledger shuts down?
If we ever wind the service down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice by email, keep exports and PDF downloads working through that window, and refund any unused prepaid annual balance. Because analyses are portable JSON, you always leave with your work.
